OUR HISTORY: Established in 1994. Back to those "good 'ole days" of our roots when "The Garage Door Man" was tamin' the west valley wrangling those garage door openers. The framed photo is a self portrait drawing from the original owner, Lance. We call him, Our Founding Father. We have come a long way since that one man operation to Sun West Garage Door Service and then rebranding to Gecko Garage Doors Inc. But, with all that change we are still a family business. Lance is now enjoying retirement and you will often find him camping in Northern Arizona. His son, Preston has stepped up as your Garage Door Man of today. That same great service and expertise carries on to the next generation.
MEET PRESTON: Hello! I am proud to be the 2nd generation of this family owned small business. Perhaps one day I will be able to pass it on to the next generation through one of my own children. My wife and I have five that could become the future of this industry (four daughters and one son). I was born into this garage door business and discovered early on that I have a natural interest in mechanical repairs and service. I started helping Dad work in the garage once I was old enough to hold a wrench. Then, I became a Junior Technician after I was able to drive a service truck. And the rest is history. Over the years alot of knowledge has been passed on through Dad's specialized experience and some I have learned from being in the field, on the job training while helping solve the garage door problems of properties all over the West Valley. Together, we have seen it all! These days the business is a little different though. In 2012, we went through a rebranding and name change to Gecko Garage Doors. Recently, we have had a surge of growth. Our staff now includes 5 service technicians and 4 office personel, for dispatch, accounting and scheduling. As we continue to grow, we are making preparations for our future needs. It is likely that we will soon need more office space, a larger workshop and more warehouse storage for our inventory. This growth may change some things for us but our goals for excellence in service will not change. You can be confident when choosing us for your garage needs. You are still supporting a local family owned business. We are not changing hands or selling out to an investor. When you contact us, it's likely that you will be greeted by someone familiar. My wife, Rebekah and my aunt, Tambria are still some of the friendly staff members you may speak with. We still have the same great technicians that our customers regularly ask for. Sometimes, we even pull my Dad out of retirement to consult with the team on a special project. Yep, he is still a valuable piece of this garage door business and a face you may see around. We are very much a family operation that cares about the community where we live and serve. It is a good sign that as our community expands, our small business is growing too. We hope that you will continue forward with us. Our customers are the driving force that allow us to reach for success.
