  • Ride-along With Tech, Jesse

    Meet Jesse, a garage door technician at Gecko Garage Doors. In this video we are spending the day on service calls with him. Ride-along and see him prepare his service truck for the day of work then repair broken springs and complete safety inspections plus garage door maintenance with lube and tuneup. Jesse is on location serving residential properties in the Phoenix West Valley, including Surprise, Peoria and Glendale.     This year is coming to a close, and it’s a time we reflect on the journey we’ve made over the last 12 months. 2024 has been a great year for Gecko Garage Doors. We have benefited greatly from our new warehouse and showroom location in Surprise that we launched at the beginning of the year. Our new location has expanded our inventory, provided space for training, and more offices so we can provide even better service to you, the customer. Our team has continued to grow in both the field and office positions to meet the needs of all our new and existing customers. I continue to tell the people we meet, and in interviews that “We have the best customers in the world!” I truly believe it too! There are so many (too many to list) reasons we have such great customers, but we do want to share a few that have meant the most to us and my team. Referrals and great reviews are the highest of compliments. It brings us so much joy to know that we have earned your trust enough for you to share online or with family members, friends, or neighbors. We print out and post your kind and positive reviews on the walls and doors of our workspaces because it makes any good day or difficult day better when we read them.   • Garage Door & Operator Install

    Another job well done by our garage door installer, Greg. Today he removed an old broken door with dents and damage on both the interior and exterior. Then the garage received a complete makeover with a new 16×7 UDT long panel steel door with PVC insulation. A new garage door installation at also includes new hardware, tracks and the spring torsion system. Plus a brand new LiftMaster operator was installed too, model 84505 D/C motor belt drive with MyQ technolgy. Wow, what an upgrade!

  • Garage Safety Check Tips

    What is the largest moving object on your property?  It’s the garage door.

    So, it should be a safety priority, right?  Well, according to our friends at LiftMaster, ” 1 in 15 may lack the latest safety features or may not be operating properly and many more garage doors and openers could be showing signs of wear and tear, indicating a need for service.”

    Here is a “Do It Yourself” tip to give your garage door and garage door opener LiftMaster’s 3-Step Safety Check.

    STEP #1 –  Check the sides of the garage door for properly installed Photo Eyes (black sensors) mounted no higher than 6 inches off the floor. 

    STEP #2 – Block the Photo Eye with an object over 6 inches tall and press the garage door opener’s close button. The door should not close.

    STEP #3 – Lay a 1.5 inch-high object on the ground in the door’s path and press the close button. The door should reverse off this object.
